Puerto Madryn is a city located within the Province of Chubut, in northeast Chubut, almost bordering the city of Río Negro, and located, at the same time, within the department of Biedma. They are all located in the Argentinian Patagonia Region.

It is one of the Argentine cities with the most visitors, and in the Patagonia area, only surpassed by San Carlos de Bariloche, in terms of numbers of visitors. Some of the city's most characteristic sites are: Playa el Doradillo, Península Valdes, Arrieros Patagonicos, Playa La Cantera and Lobera de Punta Loma.

A popular activity in the city is whale watching, as well as sighting elephant seals, dolphins, and other marine animals. Diving is a popular activity as well.

Río Gallegos is an Argentinian city, it is located within the Province of Santa Cruz. Río Gallegos is the capital and most populated locality in the province.

Geographically, Río Gallegos is located in southeast Argentina, in the Patagonia region, and currently it has a population of around 100,000 inhabitants.

Although it does not stand out, especially in the tourism area, Río Gallegos has an annual number of visitors that has been increasing for the last few years, according to the most recent statistics. Some of the most visited points of interest are: Laguna Azul, Museo de Los Pioneros, Barco Hundido Marjory Glen, Cabo Vírgenes, Costanera Angel Sureda and Plaza San Martín, among many other local landmarks.

Río Gallegos is very close to other localities such as: El Calafate, El Chaltén, La Leóna, Puerto Santa Cruz, Puerto San Julián, San Gregorio and Primavera (these last two mentioned cities are Chilean).

Santa Cruz is located around 600 kilometers (by land vehicle) from the City of Ushuaia, the southernmost city of Argentina and the world. It is located around 400 kilometers from the famous Parque Nacional de Los Glaciares (Glacier National Park).
